I'm planning a trip to San Francisco for my birthday on Valentines Day... I've never been and wanted to know if anyone could suggest where I should stay and what I should do... I plan on staying for a week....

It depends on exactly what you'd like to do. For instance, do you want to hang out on the beach etc. Could determine places you stay. Dwntwn$$$$$$$$$$. In The castro fairly central to public transit and the heart of the gay community. It's also cheaper.
