Hole in the Wall

This is my favorite bar in the city. The greatest mix of net nerds and naked bears. One cigar munching monster (naked) was staring me down and said "What are YOU looking at?" I said "You, handsome." Peace reigned.

Great atmosphere.

The music is the best mix in any bar I've been to: rock, funk, blues, punk, jazz, bluegrass. . . no disco, no show tunes. Amazing collection of art, trippy lighting, and killer cocktails. Friendly, diverse, wacky crowd.

From the week after this place opened it had the wax monument to wasted hours and watered drinks burning brightly on the bar corner. There must be action here, and we we've never found it. It's as if the SoMa Phoenix was born, fully jaded and waiting, but there were no takers. Check out the Lone Star, which is sad but true...
