***** 40+ crowd, but what's that smell...?

Big strong drinks, which might help to counteract the well-worn crowd and that funky smell...

The Edge fell over its own cliff. Seems to have suffered more in the recession than other places. The crowd is now just weird and not particularly entertaining. If you want a really stiff drink, try Walgreen's.

Nice bar on the Edge of the Castro district. It has some extremely hot over forty men. Bartenders poor an awesome drink.

***** For a good time!

Great place to feel like you're amongst the community and the pressure of not being part of the "twinks" and "20 something" crowd is great. The Edge offers great Bartenders, friendly atmosphere, great drinks and windows to watch the gaggle of people coming and going on 18th Street. There is no performance pressure, and if you let yourself, you'll have a great time!

***** "Still fun after all"

The Edge is still a friendly place to go and see friends and meet new ones. It gets crowded on Friday nights with the after work crowd, so crowded you are forced to speak to the guy next to you, and if you postion yourself right you can have a great evening and night!

***** Not what it used to be!

I never loved the Edge but for awhile it had a fun after work crowd(30's,40's bear friendly type) and the fundraisers could be a blast. That's all gone now and the crowd is thinning out. There is an odor in there that gets worse and the bar itself needs a lot of work. I suspect the Edge won't be around much longer
