Program:
-"World Premiere," featuring all-new choreography by Robert Dekkers and an original score by Jacob Wolkenhauer, expresses the need to question both our beliefs and our doubts, particularly in this time of rapid social changes. Presented through the generous support of the San Francisco Arts Commission.
-"Mine Is Yours," featuring an original score by Daniel Berkman, lighting design by David Robertson, and costumes by Susan Roemer, recently premiered at the 2012 San Francisco International Arts Festival. Dekkers fourth collaboration with Berkman, "Mine Is Yours" explores the vast spectrum of possibilities between communal sharing and personal possession, particularly where relationships and sexuality are concerned. Commissioned through the generous support of the Wattis Foundation.
-"Interference Pattern," which premiered on Post:Ballets program at the Herbst Theater last July, will be remounted for the company this summer. Featuring Bay Area cinematographer Amir Jaffer and music by Avey Tare & Kria Brekkan, this intimate exploration of observations influence on our subconscious behavior displays an unusual and effective combination of strength and tenderness overlaid with a subtle eroticism (California Literary Review, Geri Jeter).
-"Happy Ending," originally commissioned by Diablo Ballet for their 2011-12 season and set to the playful music of Pogo, is a quirky and whimsical work that subtly questions our never-ending search for happiness.
*Following the opening night performance, join the artists at Post:Party, an elegant reception hosted in the War Memorial's Green Room.
**Following Saturday evening's program, join the artists and collaborators for a short, moderated discussion on the skirt of the stage.
