Adios Amigo's music is derived from John Majors experiences as a drummer in a pop-punk band in Davis, CA (where he attended college) and as bassist in a funk-rock band in Novato, CA (where he attended high school), as well as a profound musical appreciation of 50s doo wop and Motown, The Beatles, indie rock bands such as Broken Social Scene, The Strokes and The Shins, as well as singer-songwriter, Elliott Smith. Starting off with a rollicking instrumental track, the rest of the self-titled EP continues to slow down as it progresses with a dose of mid-tempo jangle-pop and guitar work that sounds reminiscent of Red House Painters or The Sea and Cake.
