Personal note:
Today my research in artificial intelligence converges with my interests in the creative process. Artificial intelligence seeks to understand the essence of human intelligence, or equivalently, what in a work of art embodies humanity. Undergoing the creative process through music every day reminds me of the goal, and my hope is that one day we will all understand the nature of beauty.
More importantly, my musical identity is founded on my belief that art is communication. What an artist creates is meaningless without someone there to experience and interpret it. Through performance, I render my creative ideas through the lens of my experiences, which are then refracted through the lens of your experiences, resulting in your understanding of the music that is unique to you, me, and nobody else.
This is a way for my soul, and your soul, to be connected in a way that nobody else in this world will ever know. :-)
