San Francisco Bay Guardian GOLDIES FANCY Afterparty!

The 24th annual Guardian Outstanding Local Discovery awards honor local musicians, filmmakers, dancers, and theater and visual artists — all of whom are currently making creative, inspiring contributions to the Bay Area's arts scene. We aim to award Goldies to those whose careers are still on the rise, having not yet achieved the widespread recognition we suspect they'll soon be enjoying. This year, we also bestow an award for Lifetime Achievement on Berkeley's Shawl-Anderson Dance Studio, a remarkable "heaven for dance" for 54 years (and counting). Come celebrate our class of 2012 at a FREE afterparty (following our invite-only ceremony) at 111 Minna Gallery, featuring unforgettable performances and tunes by past Goldie winner DJ Bus Station John. Also featuring performance stylings by Kat Marie Yoas, Mad Noise, and Dr. Zebrovski. Gold attire encouraged!
