Our goal at Donna’s Tamales is to promote healthier eating habits by providing a quick, satisfying and nutritious meal. We believe that wholesome meals prepared with honesty, integrity and a lighter touch on our environment can be a savory experience.
CHEF JAMES WHITMORE (GAMH): In 2005 James joined the Great American Music Hall’s kitchen staff and was taken under the wing of the club’s then head chef, who taught him what it took to run a kitchen from top to bottom and within a few years he went from Line Cook to Executive Chef, a position he’s flourished in since 2010.
Whitmore’s menu emphasizes fresh, sustainable local ingredients, offering his own personalized take on classic bar food and BBQ with dishes like buttermilk fried chicken, beer can chicken and pulled pork as well as his own unique creations such as baked polenta pizza and the achiote chicken sandwich.
