On Tuesday, March 19, 7 to 9pm, Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck teams up with San Francisco submission-based reading series Quiet Lightning to feature a literary mixtape of local writers.
In signature Quiet Lightning style, the readings will be delivered in rapid succession and printed in the 37th issue of “sparkle + blink,” a Quiet Lightning chapbook sold at the event for $10. A free ebook download of “sparkle + blink” and video documentation of the readings will be accessible following the event at www.quietlightning.org.
Culinary guest Maggie Weber-Striplin of Pachamama Cookery anchors the evening’s potluck with a savory hot dish inspired by the theme “Quiet Lightning.” As always, guests can bring a dish, take part in a writing exercise and share the work they have created for a chance to win literary and culinary prizes.

About Quiet Lightning
A blind, submission-based reading series since the first show in December 2009, Quiet Lightning presents all forms of writing as a literary mixtape: each author follows the next without banter or introduction so that the energy, language, and themes all build off of one another to create a composite work of art, carefully put together each month by two different curators (for which they also accept applications) and printed verbatim in a corollary publication. Quiet Lightning has now produced 40 shows and published 36 issues of sparkle + blink, featuring 519 individual readings from 286 different authors.
