GAPA Men’s Chorus featured at Asia on Stage

Asia on Stage SOMArts Theater, 934 Brannan @ 8th, SF Saturday, May 18, 2013 Program: 7:00 pm GAPA pre-show reception: 6:00 pm GAPA Men’s Chorus shares the spotlight at Asia On Stage, a pan-Asian performance program presented by LIKHA Pilipino Folk Ensemble that promotes Asian cultures and traditions through music and dance. Other featured performers include Apsara Royal (Cambodia), Harsanari (Indonesia), Parangal Dance Company (Philippines), and Vietnamese Performing Arts Group/Nguyen Dance Company (Vietnam). The highlight of the program will be LIKHA's premiere of “Pilgrim,” an original dance theater work choreographed by Rudi Soriano. Influenced by Filipino ethnic dance traditions, this innovative dance piece weaves a story of Filipino immigrants in early 20th-century California from a gay perspective. Tickets are $20.
