Join us on Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, to volunteer with The Bee-Cause to create habitat for bees in San Francisco at the Bee Farm! Bee-Cause has a plot of land in the Bayview neighborhood and they are working hard to form an area hospitable to native bee populations. They have a long list of projects for us, including mulching, creating new planting berms, moving gravel and planting mix, laying logs (no, it’s not that), weeding and ivy removal, minor planting, digging a small trench, and possibly priming and caulking plywood panels so local school children can paint bee-friendly murals to be installed along the San Bruno Avenue fenceline. Bee-Cause plans on a honey tasting at the end for anyone interested.
Tools and gloves will be provided, but if you have your own gloves please bring them since Bee-Cause has a limited number.
ATTIRE: Wear comfortable clothes and consider bringing sunscreen and a hat. For those who want to play dress-up, face veils will bee available.
