Asian Students Promoting Immigrant Rights through Education (ASPIRE) has grown exponentially the past few years as a program under Asian American Advancing Justice Asian Law Caucus. Forming as the first Pan-Asian undocumented organization in 2008, we continue to provide a safe space for undocumented Asian Pacific Islander youths in the Bay Area. We strive to organize, mobilize and educate our community on issues regarding immigrant rights affecting both locally and nationally. Our mission to mobilize is highlighted in our efforts to keep families together through the “Our Families Matter” campaign, which began with the cessation of our own members’ families deportation proceedings. Amidst the discourse on comprehensive immigration reform, we extend town hall meetings to educate the public, coordinate lobby visits to our representatives, and organize mass rallies to name a few.
As ASPIRE has grown in numbers and our efforts have grown over the years, we are aiming to fundraise in order to continue implementing programs catering to the needs of our community. To meet our increasing objectives, our goal is to raise $10,000. As an all volunteer organization, the funds will be used to cultivate leadership among ASPIRE members, such as providing stipends to create paid opportunities and to expand existing and new programs dedicated to further our cause.
We would like to extend our invitation to you to be a part of our ASPIRE family. Please join us in our efforts to outreach for this unforgettable night as we celebrate the uninterrupted voices of courage.
