This summer, NightLife is going LIVE with a monthly music and art series for adults 21+. On one select Thursday each month, NightLife LIVE enlists the expertise of buzzworthy local tastemakers to pair emerging bands and musicians with cutting-edge visual artists in an innovative intersection of science, music, and art.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
NightLife LIVE Performances in the East Garden:
7:45-8:30 pm, Hot off a stint at SXSW, soul duo Myron & E open the night with a sneak preview of soul selections from their upcoming debut album Broadway, due out this summer.
8:45-9:45 pm, For the audibly-enticed, Dam-Funk, LA’s “Ambassador of Boogie Funk,” will christen the NightLife LIVE outdoor stage for an unforgettable show guaranteed to bring out the boogie in us all. A pioneer of the electro-funk renaissance, his soulful sounds recall funk-laden styles of the early 80’s.
NightLife LIVE Art Installation in the East Garden:
7:00-10:00 pm, Be the first to view an art installation by architect-turned-sculpture artist Boback Emad, designed especially for NightLife LIVE.
Perception abounds throughout the museum with interactive stations on sight, sound, touch, and more!
Optical Experiments in African Hall (Level 1):
6:00-10:00 pm, Let others see the world through your own eyes with vision technology from SensoMotoric Instruments.
Strap on a pair of vision distortion goggles and challenge your perceptive mechanisms with artist Simon Pyle, hosted by Gallery Daily.
Plus, make your own optical illusions with the crafters at SCRAP.
Outer Body Experience in the East Pavilion (Level 1):
6:00-10:00 pm, Have an outer body experience as you watch yourself complete physical tasks from a third-person perspective with OuterBody Labs.
Grown Kids Radio in the Piazza (Level 1):
6:00-10:00 pm, challenge the laws of motion by getting down to the futuristic mash ups of Grown Kids Radio
Optically Charged Works in the Coral Reef (Lower Level):
6:00-10:00 pm, View optically-charged works in 3D by Sean Newport, hosted by Gallery Daily.
View Biomimicry in Nature near the Project Lab (Level 1):
6:30-9:00 pm, Head over to the Project Lab to see dazzling examples of biomimicry in nature with Academy entomologist Norm Penny.

Note: The 4-story Rainforest exhibit closes at 7:45pm and planetarium passes are distributed to visitors on a first-come first-served basis. Special programs and lectures may have limited seating and admission will also be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
