In celebration of our summer exhibition, the Asian Art Museum presents Grit & Glamour—your chance to dress up or dress down and show it aaalll off at the museum.
► Take your fingers to the next level with TOPCOAT NAIL STUDIO, who’ll be decorating nails with fresh dazzling designs inspired by the exhibition’s stunning artwork.
► DJs DR. SLEEP, ROBOT HUSTLE (Honey Soundsystem), NATALIE NUXX and davO (Double Duchess) will keep our booties shakin' throughout the night, while the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF NU BENETTON vogues all over the museum—getting Gritty downstairs then following up with a Glamorous finale upstairs. That's two floors of fierceness, folks.
► Sip on samples of silky milk tea courtesy of BOBA GUYS.
► Strike a pose in the SNAPFIESTA PHOTO BOOTH.
► And of course, our galleries will be open!
If 11 pm is too early to call it quits (and you know it is), join us for an after-party at our neighbor, The Stud. SOME THING Gorgeous will serve up more partying, drag, art and performance, with shows at 11 and midnight. Doors open at 10. Just $10. https://www.facebook.com/events/1463456107227142/
⊂◉‿◉つ ABOUT GORGEOUS ⊙︿⊙
Beautiful or bizarre? Ravishing or repulsive? When it comes to viewing art, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Artworks from the Asian Art Museum and the San Francisco
Museum of Modern Art—appearing together for the first time—invite you to get personal and explore what “gorgeous” means to you. Come take a look, engage in some
one-on-one with the objects, and see what happens.
