We welcome to the decks one of the true Legends of Dance Music– Jerry Bonham, ably supported by our own SanFranDisko DJ – Paul Goodyear.
1976 was a very good year in dance music, most notably because it was the year DJ Jerry Bonham started to deliver his trademark sound; always flawless. Be it house, progressive, disco or funk, his music is fresh, powerful and unique with the right balance between the familiar and the unexpected. Jerry Bonham is a house music pioneer. Most recently he has been the resident DJ at the annual "Remember the Party" which celebrates the music of the San Francisco Disco institution; The Trocadero. His undeniable pedigree includes the Ice Palace on Fire Island and San Francisco residencies at Dreamland, Colossus and Pleasuredome. In the late 90’s Jerry became the resident at Spundae where he played with the big guns such as Sander Kleineberg, John Digweed, Sasha and Paul van Dyk. Starting in 2002 he toured the world with van Dyk. Never to be under-estimated, this guy is the real thing! Through his unmatched ability to tell stories through his music – Jerry Bonham is the master at making us sing, dance, laugh and cry. He really knows how to guide us deep down to “Where Love Lives”.
Paul Goodyear is a true house music veteran with a DJ style that encapsulates an incredible range and is the perfect DJ to open for Jerry Bonham. Music is his one true passion that when combined with the diversity of his influences means he is constantly pushing the boundaries of what popular dance music is.Looking through press written about the DJ you will find references such as "Disco Dignitary", "World Renowned Mix Master" and "DJ Sensation" Spinning since 1985 Goodyear came to greater recognition during Australia’s Summer of Love in 1988 as a resident of the Rat and Bacchanalia dance parties held at the Hordern Pavilion, with crowds in excess of 5000 clubbers every weekend. He held a long standing Saturday night residency in Australia playing from 1999 to 2006 at ARQ nightclub in Sydney. His infamous DJ sets at ARQ drew such a cult following that clubbers would often be seen in t-shirts bearing slogans such as "God is a DJ and his name is Paul Goodyear". It was during this time that he established himself as the master of the marathon set, with many of his solo sets lasting over 14 hours. Simultaneously and since, Goodyear played at high profile events all over the world, including throughout Australia, USA, London, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Mexico, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Auckland and Madrid. A master in the studio Paul has over 400 official releases as remixer and producer. This last year has seen the launch of his hugely popular re-edit blog SanFranDisko where he takes classics and reworks them for today's dance floors.
He can't wait to see YOU on the Dance Floor!
