Outer Space Drag Show & Vogue Workshop in East Garden (Level 1):
7:00pm, Pick up moves to be envied as you learn to vogue with instructor Jocquese Whitfield.
8:45 pm, Join drag queen extraordinaire Heklina and friends for an out-of-this-world drag show, inspired by the farthest (and fiercest!) reaches of outer space. With performances from Sugah Betes, Holy McGrail, and Breanna Sinclaire.
Sex & Culture Lecture + Movie Screening in African Hall (Level 1):
7:30 pm, Carol Queen & Robert Lawrence, founders of the Center for Sex & Culture, discuss the spectrum of gender and sexual identites.
8:30 & 9:00 pm, Embrace and learn about the science of being YOU—how you think, feel, communicate and create—during a special screening of The Science of Character, followed by a director Q&A.
Pride Crafts in the East Pavilion (Level 1):
6:00-10:00 pm, Let your freak flag fly with Scrap SF as you make your own “leather and lace” handcuffs and wristband. Plus, learn about the incredible, global, humanitarian work being done by the LGBT community with Rainbow World Fun.
Explore the ways that pleasure has evolved over the years with Good Vibrations, who will bring their pop-up antique vibrator museum back by popular demand.
dapperQ Fashion Show in the Piazza (Level 1):
7:45 pm, Get personal style tips from the well-groomed fashionistas at dapperQ!
6:00-10:00 pm, Unleash your inner dance floor diva with high energy sets by DJ Rapid Fire and Juanita More.
Hard French DJs in the Coral Reef
(Lower Level / Aquarium):
6:00-10:00 pm, Experience the fabled funk and soul stylings of Hard French DJs Carnita and Brown Amy.
Nudibranchs by the Project Lab (Level 1):
6:30-9:00 pm, See beautifully colored nudibranchs from the Academy’s collection—and learn why their flamboyance makes them some of the most remarkable (and showy) creatures in the sea.
Skulls Exhibit in the Forum (Level 2):
6:00-9:30 pm, Walk along a wallscape of sea lion skulls, watch a live colony of dermestid beetles demonstrate their "bone cleaning" skills, and learn how scientists use the Academy's vast collection of skulls to uncover clues about life on Earth.
21+ event, ID required for entry.
NOTE: The 4-story Rainforest exhibit closes at 7:45pm and planetarium passes are distributed to visitors on a first-come first-served basis. Special programs and lectures may have limited seating and admission will also be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
