Lorena Hickok: Butch Dyke, Renowned Journalist & Eleanor Roosevelt’s lover

Come to the GLBT History Museum for a talk by lesbian playwright Terry Baum about Lorena Hickok. “Hick” was the most famous woman journalist of her day when she and the future First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt fell in love; she lived in the White House, was known as the "First Friend," and was often at Roosevelt’s side. She was essential in Roosevelt’s transformation into an outspoken, media-savvy activist. Hick sacrificed her own career to support the woman she loved. $5 donation requested; members always admitted free.
