BEST SINGER/SONGWRITER CONTEST

As part of the Cabaret Showcase Showdown 2014, we continue our monthly contests with our search for the Best Singer/Songwriter. OUR GUEST JUDGE FOR THE EVENING IS KATY STEPHAN. Ms. Stephan regularly appears at the Comstock Saloon and is a singer/songwriter with several CDs under her belt. She returns to the contest for her 3rd year as a judge. Contestants will perform two (2) of their original songs, with the use of the piano on-site OR bringing their own accompaniment (guitar, acoustic instruments). Backing tracks ("karaoke"-style) are not permitted. Teams/acts are also encouraged. If the songwriter is the accompanist and there is a specific singer who works closely with the songwriter, they are encouraged to enter as an act. Guest entertainer for the evening is Candace Roberts, winner of the 2013 Best Singer/Songwriter contest. Hosted by Katya Smirnoff-Skyy, Joe Wicht, William Wicht and Mike Young.
