This week will be GORGEOUS as BCW welcomes Chris Orr... HOLY SHIT! Here is the word on CHRIS ORR...
In 1986 Orr worked at an amusement park in Ireland (yeah the whole countrys an amusement park; Drunkworld). One Sunday afternoon the dj at the kiddies disco did a no-show. The manager of the park gruffly said, hey you, whatever your name is, take over as dj, and he threw Orr into the dj booth. As he was standing in the dark with a handful of scratched Spandau Ballet and Olivia Newton John 45s (they sound like mp3s, but you can actually touch them) he saw his life stretched out before him; a life of fame, fortune, fast cars, faster women and extremely fast trains. So he was literally thrust into djing, and he never stopped.
Zip forward to the present, Orr has spent almost 25 years collecting mountains of records, playing any form of music worth dancing to and writing and editing for a gang of reputable music magazines. He doesnt play, deal or think in genres; if it rocks and he likes it, he plays it. As he says himself, Genres are for people who are hung up on...um...genres. In that 25 years he has also played with a slew of other djs and producers, like Pal Joey, David Holmes, Simon DK, Z-Trip, Maurice Fulton, 16B, Seiji, Shortkut, Mark Farina, Larry Heard, the Rapture, Harvey and Juan Atkins. He likes playing records...a lot, and wants to keep doing it.
GO GO TRANNY KALE takes the stage once more before taking off to tranny-land.
