After smash runs of LOVE, CONNIE, CONNIE LOVES JUICE and CONNIE & JUICE IN DESPERATELY SEEKING VICKIE, John Cantwell now goes beyond the valley of the dolls, beneath the planet of the apes, way over the rainbow and deep into the heart of darkness in his all new solo show, FADE TO CONNIE, starring the non-speaking all-dancing alter-ego, Love Connie.

This show reunites Cantwell with director Jim Fall and choreographer Robin Carrigan who cast John in their hit show BLOOD ORGY OF THE CARNIVAL QUEENS over 20 years ago in NYC. The show also marks his second collaboration with visual and sound designer Zig Gron having worked together on Cantwell's first play SALTINE CRACKERS in 2004.
Cantwell takes his love of movies way too far as he bends their stories and images to his will, film by film, via a soundtrack that could've been culled from a John Hughes movie and a flash-dancing heroine, forever caught in comic situations and emotional peril, but who always seems to land with her size 11 feet firmly planted on the ground.
FADE TO CONNIE features art by Adrian Carroll, photography by Marc Cartwright, graphics by Nubar, wigs by Scott Williams, fashions by Je'Taime of Hollywood and a special guest vocal appearance by Coco Peru as Connie's agent, "Mags".
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the basement of a mexican restaurant... FADE TO CONNIE!
John Cantwell is Connie in this tribute to the Golden Age of exploitation movies, the 1970's!!!
"For the past six years, Cantwell has explored the many faces of his alter-ego, Connie, in a series of experimental theater productions that are equal parts playful drag musicals and performance art. Cleverly choreographed, these nearly wordless stories told through music and dance are unlike anything else on the L.A. stage" - The Huffington Post
