There are so many talented cabaret performers who don't fit nicely into "crooner" or "showtunes" or "pop." And for them, we have a special night and a special contest.
OUR GUEST JUDGES FOR THIS CONTEST ARE: Marie Alotta Boutté, recently returned to the USA after a successful year-long-plus stint with Thierry Mugler's cabaret/burlesque/follies revue in Paris, AND Matthew Martin, a true SF gem, star of the indy film "Hush Up Sweet Charlotte," as well as "Shit & Champagne" and "Temple of Poon" at the Oasis. Ms. Boutte is a celebrated burlesque singer and Mr. Martin is a singer and tap-dancer. They excel in this very category.
Prepare two (2) songs, bring along the sheet music and sing for our judges. We provide the pianist. BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO ACCOMPANY YOURSELF ON PIANO OR GUITAR ... or similar accompaniment. And the winner takes home a small cash prize, plus participation in the final contest on Sunday, November 22nd.
Please note: NO click-tracks (i.e., no karaoke).
