Please join us at Fabulous By Design on June 9, 2011 to benefit the Gay-Straight Alliance Network. GSAN is a non-profit youth leadership organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) to each other and community resources through peer support, leadership development, and training. These networks support young people in starting, strengthening, and sustaining GSAs to:
create safe environments in schools for students to support each other and learn about homophobia and other oppressions,
educate the school community about homophobia, gender identity, and sexual orientation issues, and
fight discrimination, harassment, and violence in schools.
Over the past year, you have probably read the many stories in the press about gay teens who took their own lives after suffering violence, harassment, and discrimination in schools. Many of you may have made an Its Get Better video or known friends who have made them. This is another opportunity to get involved and to help make things better for our LGBT youth.
For details and tickets, please visit www.gsanetwork.org/fabulous. The evening will include a silent auction with incredible vacation packages, gift certificates, and more, plus food, drinks, and a chance to hear from the young leaders impacted by GSA Network. Greg and I are proud to help support their efforts.
We hope you can join us in supporting GSAN and making schools safer and more supportive for our LGBT youth.
You can help make it better!
Thank you for your support!
