Please join the The GLBT History Museum as we welcome author Timothy Stewart-Winter for a reading from his book "Queer Clout: Chicago and the Rise of Queer Politics." Books will be available for purchase onsite and Timothy will be signing after the reading. Thursday March 31, 7 to 9 p.m. GLBT History Museum 4127 18th St., San Francisco $5 suggested donation, members free ABOUT "QUEER CLOUT" Tracing the gay movement’s path since the 1950s, from the closet to the corridors of power, "Queer Clout: Chicago and the Rise of Queer Politics" shifts the story from the coastal gay meccas to the often overlooked events of the nation’s midwestern metropolis. "Queer Clout" draws on a decade of research, including diverse oral histories and previously unexamined archival documents and is richly illustrated with images spanning more than half a century. ABOUT TIMOTHY STEWART-WINTER Timothy Stewart-Winter is currently an assistant professor of history and acting director of the women's and gender studies program at Rutgers University-Newark, and co-directs the Queer Newark Oral History Project. This program at The GLBT History Museum is open to all, $5 suggested donation at door and free to GLBT Historial Society members.
