Come for the mimosas and amazing friends...stay to solve the housing crisis. Yes, it is possible to solve San Francisco's affordable housing problem in the near future and all we need is *100 attendees to invite 100 of their facebook friends to an epicly fun brunch in the park* so that we can collect enough signatures to place a new law on the November ballot.
We have a last-minute opportunity to put a major overhaul of the housing code up for a vote for the November election if we can collect 10,000 official signatures in 3 weeks (more details on the law below). Rather than raise a bunch of campaign cash or have friends hit up strangers for signatures on the street, we want to throw an amazing brunch, where everyone can take 1 minute to give us a signature and put the law up for a vote.
I have a fundamental belief that being a good citizen shouldn't require great sacrifice. Back when America had voting turnout above 90% in the 19th century, being an active citizen was combined with fun community events. Please contact me if you'd like to be a co-host (or just start inviting friends). If we get close enough to 10K signups soon, we'll bring lots of fun activities (food trucks, acroyoga, capoeira, games and more). It's a moonshot plan, but we have no choice given the timing.
