Join us for an intimate wine dinner featuring the iconic winemaker Jeff Emery of Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards and Quinta Cruz, who partnered with DOSA on their private wine label, Sujātā. This wine, made exclusively for DOSA, was made with two Iberian grape varieties: Albarino & Garnacha Blanca (Grenache Blanc), fermented slowly, using yeasts designed to maximize the expression of the aromatics and depth of fruit of these varieties. After fermentation, it was held in stainless steel, never seeing oak. Emery blended this wine with DOSA Wine Director & Sommelier, Todd Smith, using grapes grown organically by famed grower, Markus Bokisch. The blends were made intentionally to go with South Indian food, showing vital fruit acids & minerality to work well with coconut sauces and yogurt dishes, & flavors that play well with the sweet/savory of seasonings. The dry aspects will last through a whole meal, including spicier dishes.
This exclusive dinner will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at 6:30 p.m. in the beautiful Mezzanine at DOSA Fillmore and is a unique and rare opportunity for wine lovers and enthusiasts to taste their beloved wines.
The dinner will feature a three-course menu with wine pairings, expertly selected to complement the fresh, summer flavors and locally sourced ingredients. Emery and Smith will be at the dinner to share the story about the wines and how they pair with DOSA’s South Indian cuisine.
