RAW presents April Deutschle and Kristin Torok at SAFEhouse Arts Weds-Thurs August 24-25 at 8PM Sliding Scale $10-20 CASH ONLY at the door April Deutschle presents "Why Is Everybody White?" A young woman in search of acceptance in a world oddities. She explores such themes as sex, female body image, racial stereotypes, and Barbie. In a whirlwind of humorous personas she clowns the characters of contemporary America. Kristin Torok presents "A Minute of Your Time" "A Minute of Your Time" is about the incessant collection and commoditization of personal information and how our identity becomes defined by our metrics. Through a solo that leverages text and movement the idea of personal data collection is explored. Attributes that typically define us such as race, gender, age, and income level become meaningless in the abstract and when taken to the absurd can be at the same time humorous yet perhaps more genuine.
