Strut Book Club reads Another Country by James Baldwin

For the month of October, the Strut Book Club is reading the exciting classic “Another Country” by James Baldwin! PLEASE NOTE: Because the last Monday of the month lands right on Halloween, the Strut Book Club is meeting on November 1st. Join us November 1st at 8 PM on the Second Floor of Strut for some wine and literature. Read the book beforehand and come ready to discuss your thoughts. Continuing our romp down gay classics with James Baldwin’s novel of passions–sexual, racial, political, artistic–that is stunning for its emotional intensity and haunting sensuality. The characters are stripped of their masks and shown at their most elemental and sublime. In a small set of friends, Baldwin imbues the best and worst intentions of liberal America in the early 1970s.
