Drawing from the rich and varied images of burlesque over the ages, The DIVA or Die Cabaret will take the audience on a voyeuristic journey allowing them a sensuous peek at the bold women and times of burlesque. First introduced at the 2012 DIVAfest, both Red Velvet and If-N’-Whendy, have continued to bring today’s look at burlesque in monthly DIVA or Die reviews, offering women the opportunity to claim their power and strut their stuff in an art form that goes back to the Greeks. Red Velvet is a prolific choreographer and performs throughout the Bay Area, teaches cancan and burlesque classes and is the lead choreographer, costume designer, and DIVA for the new Cancan performance group, The Velvettes. If-N’-Whendy has been performing all over the Bay Area for the past 8 years. She has been on tour to LA with Bombshell Betty and Fromagique and dancing in Vegas with Los Shimmy Shakers.
