Smack Dab Open Mic , the longest running Queer Open Mic in The Bay- now at our new location, Dog Eared Books Castro. With Feature Rachael House Co-hosted by Larry-bob Roberts and Dana Hopkins ALL AGES ALL GENDERS ALL FREE and we are SUPER accessible! At Dog Eared Books, Castro, 489 Castro St. Wednesday April 19 Open mic signup 7:30pm (5 minutes each) Show starts at 8pm About feature Rachael House: Rachael House makes events, objects, drawings and performances. She has recently facilitated political zine making at Arnolfini, Supernormal, Hastings Cartoon Festival and Tate Modern. In the last year her work has been exhibited at House of Illustration, University of Kent, Peckham Platform and Murray Edwards College alongside the New Hall Women’s Art Collection. In April she’ll be discussing depictions of women and ageing as part of Queers & Comics conference in San Francisco, and has work in Inking Women at the Cartoon Museum, London. In the 1990s she was part of the thriving UK queerzine scene with her autobiographical Red Hanky Panky. She now appears to be part of queer history, but she doesn't feel THAT old.
