What we say

A gay managed, moderately priced hotel near to Folsom Street and SOMA
The area around the hotel is a little dicey, but its easy to get to public transportation and to walk into SOMA.

We stayed here last year for Folsom Street Fair. Hotel is in a very convienient location could walk to everything and great rates (you get what you pay for) The hotel management and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but very basic. If you are looking for "high-end decor" this place is not for you! Lack of airconditioning could be a problem if is it is not a cool evening. We were disappointed that there were not more gay men staying in the hotel for this event weekend..lots of foregn travelers. Hotel area is on the edge ! Will try it again and hope for more.

***** Near Folsom Street and Castro, a good value

We stayed here last year for the second time in a row and had a great time. The hotel is an older building with some quirks but the atmosphere was friendly (not a totally "gay" hotel, but everybody was friendly and we had no problems with any employees, many of which seemed to be gay). The restaurant had excellent "soul food", cheap and plenty to eat, especially the "chhurasco" (a BBQ Brazilian style). Over the weekend there were plenty of attractive leathermen in the hotel and the atmosphere was great.

I had a horrible time at this place last Folsom. The rules they tried to impose for the Fair were outrageously stupid! We couldn't have guests in our rooms after 10pm. What the heck. Got into a manager discussion where plan and flat was told "I don't care what you do". I don't think this place should be endorsed by the Folsom St Fair any longer!
