Drawing inspiration from the carriage of a typewriter, the Carriage Inn is an offbeat urban retreat in the middle of SOMA. A San Francisco eccentric or local luminary is profiled in each of the 48 rooms providing a glimpse of San Franciscos notorious and diverse counterculture. Convenience and comfortWell-placed for access to the SOMA bars as well as central Market Street and the Civic Center. The room was very comfortable and they are each named in honor of a local literati. Parking is extra and rates do not include breakfast, but its a good choice if you want to stay in the area. -

Carriage Inn is GreatThe hotel is very close to city hall and the gay pride celebrations/Parade. The prices are very reasonable. The room was clean and well decorated and this hotel is in walking distance from Market Street.
