***** Good food, but noisy

I really enjoy the comfort food here, especially the pot roast. (I was came with six other guys and five of us ordered the pot roast!) My only complaint is the accoustics that can make it a very noisy place to dine.

***** Definitely NOT a home of great food

The food here is at most, decent. It's pretty much a hit and miss; and I don't even know why. If you are looking for some yummy homestyle meal, go somewhere else. But, a good place to grab drinks and snacks before a nightout though!

go here, just trust me. BEST cornbread in sf -- no lie. happy hour w/ 1/2price drinks is worth getting there early for! (try a homegirl... or two!) i love the chicken potpie, husband is mad for the fried chix, and must recommend the pot roast. be sure to order and share some starters/sides. now GO, already...

***** There's no place like Home in the city.

I agree with Peter that the people-watching is great here, but I haven't found the food to be inconsistent. I come here for comfort food and a good mojito, and I always have the mac 'n' cheese!

***** Scene is better than the food and drinks.

The people watching in this restaurant/bar is definitely better than the inconsistent food and drink at this Castro hotspot. Some things on the menu are great and others not. Simple things are better than the complicated or exotic sounding. Not to be missed is the pot roast on mashed potatoes. Nice and reasonable wine list. Pass on the mac n' cheese.
