Not what I expected ...

I checked it out twice. Maybe it's my age, but I remember the bar that used to be in this location in the '80s as a great place to get together with people for conversation and drinks. Now it seems to have been transformed into just another bar like most others with ear-deafening, generic "music" making it almost impossible to talk to anyone ... an awful lot of attitude and posing, too.

Has potential

We were there on a Sunday night and the place was rather dead, which was too bad, because they have a nice outside deck with a view of the Castro.

Best views in the Castro (both of city life and eye candy). Nights in the Castro or after-Brunch cocktails always seem to begin at the Lookout for me and my peeps. Great atmosphere, booze, and views.

Lookout is always a good time!

Saturdays are social club and that always draws a crowd. Brain Farts Trivia hosted by Pollo del mar is always fun and entertaining.

Good for socializing.

I had mixed feelings after entering. There was plenty of music in the small bar and thr lights were going like it was expected that you were on acid. I found nothing more than people standing round in groups trying to have a conversation with friends over the music. No one was dancing (and there frankly was no room to try) i found myself eacaping to the patio for some fresh air as it was hot and muggy inside due to the large stagnent crowd. The drinks were strong and fairly priced. I felt the focus of this "club" needs to be re-thought. For a friday night there should have been a party, not a gathering. All in all i felt the lookout (with some focus) would be a place worth visiting again.
