A total mix of young/old!
Moby's must be the staple of the Castro. Had an easy feel to it where you could come in all dressed up or dressed down and fit right in! The drinks were cheap, but not so many friendly folks here. It's like a neighborhood bar, and if you're not part of the neighborhood people sit back and stare. Good eye candy here of all ages!
moby dick's is my favorite bar in SF. But it's small so going there on major holidays can be a bitch to move around. I like when there is hardly a crowd and you can be seen and watch the guys play pinball machines. i love the fish tank and the bartenders are friendly.
Great Place.
Moby Dick is quickly becoming the bar to be seen at. The weekends are packed with a great mix of guys from their 20's to 40's. It's a great place to cruise and have fun at the same time. I have probably meet more guys at Moby's than any other bar. The aquarium behind the bar is amazing..go just to see that.
Been here once, but love it
This is where I learned to be gay. Featuring a large fish tank, which somehow will be with me when I die. this is an honest neighborhood bar in the very dishonest neighborhood of the Castro. Drinks are competent and the crowd is non-threatening. A pool table makes for easy lingering.
great mix
if you are looking for a non dance venue, with a very mixed crowd of types and ages this is the place for you. not difficult to meet people here, as the crowd often forces you into one another. friday and saturday nights are best, but the excitement usually wears off by 11.30pm, so get here a bit earlier.
