Talk about truth in advertising! I love a divey gay bar, and so I definitely came to the right place. The bar is darker than the pictures would suggest, and it's on a strange street--definitely not a place you would happen to stumble across as a tourist. Friendly with good drinks. If you like dive bars, you'll like this one; if you don't, you will probably run away screaming. lol
The name says it all
Just like the other reviews have stated.. it is like the place where time forgot. It is trapped in the 1970's. This is definitely a dive bar. In San Fran, you can be naked. This bar encourages you to be naked. Although, just like most naked places, the ones who are naked "maybe" shouldnt be and the ones that should be naked are not. If you are a nudest this it the bar for you. It just wasnt for me.
Love the Hole
I'm from Boston and everytime I'm in San Francisco, I spend as much time as I can at the hole, last time was Sept 2010, I enjoy spending time at the hole completely naked, I even got to play pool naked, which was a lot of fun, the bartender's don't always let you go naked but when they do, I take advantage of it.
Querky
It's definitely an interesting bar to check out. It has definitely improved since its move to its new location on Folsom. Drop by for a drink and don't expect much, since it is only a hole in the wall... seriously!
