A Bar For Everyone
Low-key atmosphere where everyone can show up and enjoy a drink alone or with friends. Not sure if he still works there, but one of the bartenders is absolutely gorgeous!!
Hideout in the Castro
So this has got to be my favorite bar in the Castro. It's a little off the beaten path, and when you get there you'll see what I mean. It's a cozy place, and they treat their customers well. Fun jukebox with lots of random music, and a couple of TV screens....one of the bartenders brings in some really fun old TV shows, I sat through a couple episodes of Charlie's Angels and it was a blast lessening to everyone hoot and holler at the screen. Cold beer, attentive and friendly bartender, and you don't get jostled or judged. Good times for all.
Even a real juke box!
Wandered in on a Thursday afternoon and immediately felt at home in this small, friendly bar reminiscent of my old hangout in Seattle. The crowd was chatty and the day bartender, Kevin, was delightful. Quite possibly my new favorite bar in the Castro.
Hole. In the wall.
Need I say more...?
Clumsy local spot
Well, I still like the ceiling, but the new management has become sloppy. Like hiring a clueless bartender who takes your money while you're still counting it. The last time I was there, he served a local matron's doggy a beer. And yes, said pooch drank out of a glass ON THE BAR.
Now you know why that was the last time I was there.
Fantastic hole in the wall
The bartender, Steve, is very friendly and pours a great drink. Great (small) place for friendly people and conversation.
Friendly bar
Having moved up here to San Francisco 2 months now, I have tried to find a friendly bar, a friend took me to this bar.
people were friendly, the bartender Steve is very cool! I would highly recommend it for people who want to meet others in a relaxed atmosphere.
"Sleepy" is the key word
Although I've had a couple of good times here, I've also had times where it was eerily quiet and deserted. More often than not, I'd describe this bar as a little boring. It might be a good place to have a conversation with a close friend though...
Great little hole in the wall
I first went there last during the Folsom Street Fair last year and went again during Dore Alley this year. Everyone there is friendly, bartenders and patrons alike. It is an easy place to strike up a conversation and the drinks are primo strong also. Definatley a plus. I will be back during Folsom this year.
