Additional December Service Project - Gay-Straight Alliance

G4G is volunteering to help out at the Gay-Straight Alliance Network’s annual queer and ally youth conference on Saturday, 12/15, 7:30 am – 10:30 am. This is an additional “smaller” service project for December. We are in need of 10-15 volunteers (of course, more would be great)! This annual, day-long conference is dedicated to defeating homophobia and creating safe, supportive schools for everyone. We want that, right? It is youth-planned and youth-led.

WHAT: We will be working together to set up the breakfast service for the participants (cutting bagels, getting food displayed etc.), “serving” breakfast, and cleaning up after breakfast. We are told that the tasks are simple – this time, we will be wielding knives instead of sledgehammers and pick axes.

WHERE: Mission High School – 3750 18th Street, in the Castro. Go through the school’s main entrance and check in at “Volunteer Headquarters.”

Yes, we have been invited to eat breakfast!
