The mission of this event is to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and care while promoting the art of dance in the San Francisco Bay Area. Beneficiaries of this event include Larkin Street Youth Services and Bay Area Young Positives and a grant will also be made to the Parachute Fund of Dancers’ Group, a program to provide emergency grants to members of the dance community living with HIV and AIDS.
“Dances from the Heart” was the first time the dance community has come together to raise funds for a cause such as AIDS and we’re truly honored to have been a vehicle to help make this happen. Our goal is to make this one of the Bay Area’s premier, annual benefit events uniting the Bay Area dance community in a common cause.
