Holiday Inn Civic Center

(2 Ratings)
No frills, all-access, comfortable city stay
Renovated in the summer of 2009, this hotel features upgraded linens, a sparkling pool and free wi-fi. The location is nice for going to the theater and live music, as its close to the Orpheum and Golden Gate Theatres, the Warfield and many other San Francisco attractions. This is the ideal location during San Francisco Pride (its at the end of the parade route and next to the celebration) and Folsom Street Fair. Get whisked away to other parts of the city and San Francisco Bay Area with BART and MUNI located less than a block away.

Good Location

As the last reviewer said, the best thing about this hotel is the location. I've never eaten there (usually avoid hotel food) but it's right at Market and 8th, there's a BART station on the corners and it's within walking distance of the SOMA bars. If you're driving into town parking can be expensive ($30 a dar). Not a lot to eat around the area late at night, so plan accordingly!

Go for the LOCATION

Dont go for the hotel - go for the location. Right at the end of the parade route. We walked everywhere from this hotel. Getting a cab on pride weekend was out of the picture - so location really counted. They even had security at the door - room keys needed to get in. Too bad the hotel felt like a 2 1/2 star when the price was 4 star. Didnt care for the dog in the pool area either. Great way to ruin it for the responsible pet owners. Stay away from the hotel buffet resteraunt - we ordered the special and waited 50min for the worst meal in san fran. If you stay here, plan to be away from the hotel for the day. Just sleep there.
