Authentic Home Cooked German Cuisine
As a child, I spent many summers with my grandmother in Germany. The first time I ate at Walzwerk, I nearly cried as the food immediately brought me back to my childhood memories of my grandmother's home cooking. I've eaten at Suppenkuche and the food is excellent and very authentic, but it's more traditional German restaurant cuisine than good German home cooking that I remembered so well. The space is small and a bit crowded so there usually is a good wait for a table. Just sit in the bar area and enjoy a 'boot' of imported German Beer while you wait. Also, check out the bathroom with all the old East German 45 records on the walls and the toiletries from days long ago. They're priceless!
