A project of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Magnet, located smack-dab in the middle of the Castro, is a critical gay men's sex-positive health service provider. Go there for free, anonymous HIV-testing, drug & alcohol counseling, all in a place run by experts who understand and have been there themselves. The storefront space also showcases local talents with exhibits, talks and performances. This is not your parentss' STD clinic; The staff tends to be just as concerned about emotional and social health as physical health, and it's the kind of place guys can pick up condoms, advice any maybe even get in a little cruising, which is encouraged!
