A real SF institution

The Castro theatre is one of those amazing old movie houses that still hints at it's old beauty. It's of another time where people would pack into single theatres to watch one movie. These days they have live shows, the frameline gay film festival (among other festivals) and art pics and mainstream pics too. I love the organ player who plays while you are waiting to see a film, it's worth going early to hear.

If for no other reason, see movie at this historical movie theatre just for the architecture! Beautiful! Besides movies they also have live performances.

Best SF Art Deco Theatre

Always enjoy my times there with the best organ in town. I drive many famous movie actors there for Marc Huestis events.

Classic Movie Program, Film Festival and Community

This is a long standing institution that has a terrific program of great movies -- classics and new. Hosts the annual gay and lesbian film festival and recently, the GAYVN Award ceremonies (the gay porn Oscars).
