Cheap drinks and shuffleboard!

This is one of the best hangouts in the city. The back patio is perfect for a sunny afternoon, and for some reason I can't stay away from the shuffleboard after a few drinks. Usually a mixed crowd, so don't be shocked to see straights.

It's a little out there, meaning there's not of other gay options around, but El Rio is pretty much one of the best hangouts in the city if you just want to have fun and spend good times with friends. Like everyone's saying, the best is Salsa Sundays, but do not underestimate how cool it can get on happy hour the rest of the week.

Fantastic in every way!!

The sundays down to El Rio are legendary but they also have a gay behind the scenes kind of feel too. They are officially a mixed club but look at the staff and give them a wink and you know you are in the family. El Rio is a wonderful place!

I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and had a great time. The live band playing at that time was fantastic. Salsa music which was totally contagious. It just got into your skin and makes you want to get up and dance. I thought the diversity there was great too. This is what it is all about - gay and straight all getting together and having fun.

Best Place in SF on a Sunday afternoon!!

When the weather's in our favor, El Rio is just about the most beautiful place to be on a Sunday afternoon. You'll find the most amazing group of diverse people, all smiles and love, getting all crazy to some of the best salsa music around. The staff is great and super-friendly. The line can be long on gift days (especially if you hit it after 4pm), but it's always worth the wait. Watch out for those killer margaritas!
