Festival Weekend: Come Out & Play SF

Join Come Out and Play and SOMArts for a weekend of city-sized, community-based games! You'll run through the streets, become a kid again on the playground, explore new ways of behaving in public, and ask yourself why life can't always be this amazing. Play over 20 games at SOMArts, Victoria Manalo Draves Park, and in the SOMA neighborhood.

Find a key to the dates & locations of games on Saturday & Sunday December 1st and 2nd and sign up through EventBrite to skip the lines on game day: http://playsf.eventbrite.com

Other events include a month-long gallery exhibition, November 17–December 19, & an opening night party on November 17, 6–9pm.

Come Out & Play SF Festival and Exhibition is one of four exhibition proposals selected to receive a 2012–13 Commons Curatorial Residency at SOMArts. Selected artists and curators receive curatorial stipends and a support package valued at over $20,000, as well as access to one of the largest and most beautiful gallery spaces in the heart of the city to expand their practice, engage the Bay Area’s cultural communities and turn vision into reality.

Come Out & Play was founded in 2006 to offer the public new ways to enjoy and experience their city through games played in public spaces. It was the first festival of its kind in the world and remains a leader in identifying trends in public gaming and an inspiration for games festivals worldwide.
