Artists Drawing Club with Ranu Mukherjee: The Procession of Future Artifacts

Ranu Mukherjee along with Dimeng Brehmer, Jamie Emerick, Maral Hashemi, Laura Kingsley, Opesanwo Omoifa and Tali Weinberg (California College of the Arts MFA students) activate the museum with a procession through the collection galleries.

Along the procession’s route, each artist will present a response to a particular object from the collection, highlighting distortions of history, personal association, and interpretation that shape these newly created artworks.

The Procession of Future Artifacts attempts to spark a re-animation of the third floor galleries, speaking with objects from the past about their stakes in the present. A gathering will follow.

Meet in South Court near the information desk at 6:30 pm. Free with admission ($10).

► About The Artists Drawing Club ◄
The Artists Drawing Club is a salon of sorts. Every month a local contemporary artist is invited to use the museum as a project platform, drawing inspiration from the collection, special exhibitions, the building, or the surrounding neighborhood to create an interactive event. This provides a new lens to view the museum, its collection, and the world around us through the perspectives of eight contemporary artists.
