Local and international artists of music and dance meet to perform in an evening of improvisation, creating spatial interaction and sonic abstraction in between the bodies of sound and human bodies in motion. This series has been curated and produced by Christine Bonansea since 2013 in various venues in the San Francisco Bay Area in order to engage a dialogue and artistic meetings between the music and dance scene. FRESH Exchanges are 13 easy access community events formulated to generate fresh ideas, perspectives, connections and intersections in Bay Area dance, music and performance. FRESH Exchanges cultivate the roots and branches of these communities, presenting existing models of interaction to magnify the impact of making reasons to gather, share experience and be in discourse and process with each other.

FRESH Festival 2015, from January 2-18, is the 6th annual Festival of Experimental Dance and Performance in San Francisco, offering an abundance of body-based art, action and interaction at the start of the new year. FRESH 2015 focuses on Roots + Branches and presents 17 consecutive days of events, including 3 weekends of Performances, 16 days of Practices, in week-long Intensives and weekend Labs, and 13 Exchanges, community-oriented gatherings for discourse, process and experience, at Joe Goode Annex, CounterPulse and F8 Nightclub.
FRESH 2015 is curated by Kathleen Hermesdorf, Abby Crain, Maryanna Lachman and Ernesto Sopprani, and produced by ALTERNATIVA in association with Joe Goode Annex and THEOFFCENTER, with support from the Kenneth Rainin Foundation and the Zellerbach Family Foundation. ALTERNATIVA is a fiscally sponsored project of Dancers' Group.
