This intensive will address skills and provide challenge for all levels and types of dancers. Employing various post-modern dance techniques and movement trainings, we will work on the floor, upside down and upright-- integrating developmental movement patterns with structural alignment and momentum for efficiency in dancing. Bringing these patterns into partnering work, we then possess understanding of our structure, strength and skill to support our partners in weight sharing, counterbalance, lifts and skillful, rigorous dancing!
Using all of these skills, patterns and modalities, the work will move organically into choreographed phrases. Phrase work will be constructed from everything we develop, and practiced in the framework of your own body, skill level and moment to moment understanding.
Scared of choreography? Don't be! Come play, partner, and embody the dance phrase in an organic way.
