San Francisco Gay Basketball Association (Closed Temporarily)

(6 Ratings)
Homos 'n hoops
Bust out those sneakers and spend a day on the court. A great way to meet people outside the bar scene while getting a great workout.

Awesome group of boys

I played a couple seasons in this league and I was lucky to play with a bunch of adorable / skilled guys one season. We were #1 during the season but ended up losing to another team in the finals. However, it was still an amazing experience and I love the teammates I played with.

Fun place for all to play basketball

The SFGBA had its first open gym in 1986. Since then it has grown into a Castro institution. Open gym continues to this day on Sundays at the Eureka Valley Gym, where anyone can come and play basketball from 5 pm - 9 pm. There is also a league with 6 teams that play every Thursday. Above all, the people are very friendly, and it is a great place to meet new friends.
