Dolores Park

(56 Ratings)
Gay urban "beach"
At the southwest, top corner of Dolores Park, a grassy ledge dubbed the Fruit Shelf offers stunning views of the city. Leave it to the gays to adopt this chunk of prime real estate.

Park with a view

Dolores Park was recently renovated. It is beautiful and has a great view overlooking the city. On any warm day, you'll find the park fills up fast with hundreds of sun worshipers. The atmosphere is fun and friendly! Dolores is also known as "Gay Beach" for the large gay contingent.

Breathtaking. City. View.

One of the few places in the City where you can enjoy the city view and also enjoy the company of others to spend a day in the park known as Dolores. Historical grounds, once a lake, and also a tent city that helped those who were recovering from the great earthquake of 1906. Today, an eclectic place to people watch, take visitors, and get a sense of the city vibe.

Must see, must visited

I've lived here for 16 years and the view from the top of Dolores Park always gets me. Come on the weekend or any good weather day and sit on the first ledge towards the top of the park above the playground. You'll be surrounded by cute gays and their friends. It's our "gay beach"

AMAZING PLACE!

I lived in this beautiful city for 6 years and miss it terribly. I spent any nice day and even some crapy days in this park which was a short distance from my apartment. LOVED the frozen fruit sticks and of course the brownies. <EG> Also picked up some awesome well hung men at this park. Great place to go at night as well. If you EVER get a chance to go to SF GO!!!
