Park with a view
Dolores Park was recently renovated. It is beautiful and has a great view overlooking the city. On any warm day, you'll find the park fills up fast with hundreds of sun worshipers. The atmosphere is fun and friendly! Dolores is also known as "Gay Beach" for the large gay contingent.
Breathtaking. City. View.
One of the few places in the City where you can enjoy the city view and also enjoy the company of others to spend a day in the park known as Dolores.
Historical grounds, once a lake, and also a tent city that helped those who were recovering from the great earthquake of 1906.
Today, an eclectic place to people watch, take visitors, and get a sense of the city vibe.
Must see, must visited
I've lived here for 16 years and the view from the top of Dolores Park always gets me. Come on the weekend or any good weather day and sit on the first ledge towards the top of the park above the playground. You'll be surrounded by cute gays and their friends. It's our "gay beach"
Bring some wine and friends and a vegetable platter and make a day of it!
AMAZING PLACE!
I lived in this beautiful city for 6 years and miss it terribly. I spent any nice day and even some crapy days in this park which was a short distance from my apartment. LOVED the frozen fruit sticks and of course the brownies. <EG> Also picked up some awesome well hung men at this park. Great place to go at night as well. If you EVER get a chance to go to SF GO!!!
Tennis and Lounging
I'd LOVE toloose my virginity there to muscular men!
Hot place
Great view
The gay area towards the hill in the back has been dubbed the Manshelf - sit here and catch all the cuties in their mankinis on our very own "beach."
The best Spot in the city!
Sunday Funday @ it's best.
Dolores Beach
You'll find your average, unique and friendly gays here. Speedos, sun tans and music- just be carefull after five. The temperature drops from hot to nippy fast- pleasant views of the city at night too
The "gay beach" in the Castro
Love sitting in the sun reading on the grassy slope on the 20th Street side of the park. Locals call it the "gay beach," and it's fun to see all the cute guys lying out in their shorts (or underwear) soaking up the sun. And it also has an awesome view of downtown San Francisco.
sunny sumptuousness
i love to travel, but sometimes i find it hard to leave san francisco. there are so many adventures you can have right here, practically for free. one of them involves dolores park. this is what i suggest. after a saturday night of clubbing you meet friend for a restorative lunch that involves bloody marys and lots of protein. then gather your towel, water bottles and sun screen and some goodies and head to dolores park. reserve a space on the gay hill with your buddies. after cruising the guys, lay back and fall asleep amid the beauty. when you wake up after the power nap, have a snack and make some new friends. then, after a stop to change, head to the castro for all the sunday afternoon fun. it's a great time there cause that's everyone's last chance to make new friends--or, in some cases, to get laid before you return to the monday grind. sound like fun? sometimes you just have to say, it's good to be gay!
Urban Beach without the Sand and Water
Great spot on a sunny day to take in the sun and boys who leave no spot untaken on the sunny top of the hill. Great view of San Francisco; and definitely plenty of hot yummy eye-candies. Bring a picnic basket and more; and you'll definitely have an awesome sunny day on the beach - just without the sand and water.
