As a man into the leather scene I gravitate to places like this. Nice to relax with a beer and chat with hot men. I love the laid-back atmosphere.
Great Bar
First Bar I went to after getting home from a 9 month overseas deployment. Patrons were very friendly along with the staff. Bartender took time to give me the run down in what places to visit and where to go while visiting. Went back for the sing along night and had a blast. Usually the first Bar I go to when I visit the city.
Most Welcoming Bar in the Castro
The sexy bartenders will attend your every need and the intimate space will be filled with a diverse slice of the SF LGBTQ Community. There always seems to be an event of some kind, usually a fundraiser for a charitable organization well worth your assistance. Expect hospitality and acceptance unrivaled by any other Castro bar. Tell them Donna sent you!
An All-Time Favorite!
The Edge is one of my favorite establishments in the entire city! The people (both staff and patrons) are awesome! Their drinks are strong. Their shows are incredible! It's a kind of bar that you walk in to and everybody knows your name! Catch me performing there once a month and helping out with Pat N. Leather and Eve Volution's monthly fundraising drag revue! The only thing that could make it better would be a bigger stage for the performers. Check it out!
The Edge is making a comeback
A bar that had lost its identity inc and closed for about 2 weeks. It reopened and reinvented itself to the bar it was originally intended to be.
Great starter Bar for a night in the Castro
The Edge IMO has the tallest glasses and sweet Jesus do they pour strong. If I'm out for a night in the Castro I start here have a couple a strong ones and I'm set. Definitely a $ savor. The crowd is always friendly and there's usually a few fine ones about.
40+ crowd, but what's that smell...?
Big strong drinks, which might help to counteract the well-worn crowd and that funky smell...
Tired
The Edge fell over its own cliff. Seems to have suffered more in the recession than other places. The crowd is now just weird and not particularly entertaining. If you want a really stiff drink, try Walgreen's.
